Super Sonico (すーぱーそに子), the mascot of Visual Novel company Nitro+ and their Nitro Super Sonic festival, is basically my favorite character. People usually call their favorite character their "Waifu" or whatever it seems to be now, and I guess that could be applied to Sonico. But what exactly do I like about Sonico herself and the character in general?
A lot of things, I've liked Sonico for so long, that she's my go-to character to use as my avatar online and even used her as my characters in Phantasy Star Online 2 and Xenoblade X because I couldn't come up with anything. When I can't create a good avatar, I make the best Sonico I can. Now back to the main topic, why do I love Sonico.
Well, first is the way I learned about Sonico. I was in middle school and 12 years old, I think. It's when I first discovered my love and obsession for Boobs, especially big boobs and tons of perverted stuff. I think I just googled "anime boobs" and maybe an image of Super Sonico came up. At the time, I didn't know her name, but I think I just fell in love with the fact that her boobs were big and how she had pink hair. So yeah, it was the Boobs at first. I think 2 years later when I was either starting Highschool or about to start high school, is when I tried searching for her again and eventually learned her name. Then it eventually just stuck. I looked up info, read doujinshi of her to get my perverted fix, listened to her songs and everything. A lot of this was during the time where I was basically obsessed with Japanese stuff to the point where I was a weeaboo, and I'll admit that openly. It was pretty bad, but going through that phase did kinda help me learn more about me when I got out of it. I'm not like that now, but I still care about stuff from Japan and study the language so I can eventually try to live in Japan and try to have a nice life over there and just enjoy games.
But back to Sonico. One thing I love is the character design. It's pretty simplistic with her long pink hair that covers her forehead nicely, her calm red eyes, those standout white headphones, the blue camo sweater, white shirt with that yellow cat thing, the short brown skirt that isn't super short, but her pockets can be seen. And then those cool boots. She dresses simply, nothing too crazy or unnecessary and dresses in a way that looks practical. And in terms of what I'd want in a woman, I'd like them to have a nice sense of dress, but nothing too flashy or stupid. Like, just wear clothes. She might have rubbed off on me because I have a habit of wearing my headphones for very long hours, even if I'm not listening or watching anything, so Sonico might have influenced me.
A very kind and caring nature is also what I'd like in a woman and what I like about Sonico. She's very polite and nice to people and when I got to play SoniComi, I got to see that, she's generally very nice and doesn't get in the way or force you to do stuff you don't want to. Sonico personality wise, is someone I could see myself living with, although with maybe more perversion. Sonico is also a fan of video games, this is backed up by her having a grey SEGA Saturn in her room (at least in the anime) but she's pretty legit for that. I dunno, I'm just captivated by Sonico I guess? She also apparently likes Maximum the Hormone, which i pretty awesome because she like hard rock. Her body and figure including the Boobs are what I'd physically want from a woman. I keep comparing her to what I'd want from a woman, but I think that's what I want. Not saying to a woman "you must live up to Sonico" but I guess she's kind of a basis for what I'd like from a female companion. Someone who doesn't shit on you and make you feel bad, but hopefully doesn't sugar coat, someone who is very nice and sweet. Great figure and large Boobs, as well as a love for games, but Nitro+ should expand on that part. She's innocent, but adult enough to wear more adult outfits and bikinis.
She's also a musician and a gravure Idol. Quite a few of her songs are on YouTube (can someone please upload the SoniComi OST?) And in SoniComi, you really get to live out the gravure aspect since you play as the cameraman, and have to take photos of her. I love gravure although I prefer AV because it's porn but gravure idols are really attractive and usually pull off the cute, playful but sexual look, and highlight the beauty of a woman's face and show their best features and Tsuji Santa, her official artist, does a great job at highlighting the best of the character.
I feel like this is a bit of a mess, but it's hard to explain what I like about Sonico. She is sort of realistic expectation of what I'd like in a woman. Obviously you don't need pink hair or headphones, but those other traits would be nice. I'll find that Japanese woman eventually. It feels silly to try to get a person who can live up to a fictional character, but I'm a guy with simple desires.
